Religious or Spiritual or Neither?

Statistics for regular church attendance suggest the British have little enthusiasm for religion, but many describe themselves as ‘spiritual but not religious’. Is this a half-baked mishmash or a meaningful religious sensibility’, indicating that, even if religious practice has declined, belief has not.
