WORLDwrite is an international voluntary youth project and educational charity with an inspiring track record of encouraging links between young people across the globe
.

WORLDwrite won enormous public support and celebrity backing for an exchange visit to Hiroshima in August 1995 on the fiftieth anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In 1996 we co-ordinated a Europe-wide anti-racist exchange and tour, linking up with German school students, Algerian youth groups and holocaust survivors. The tour culminated in a Youth Summit in Strasbourg. In 1997 WORLDwrite arranged the first leg of a youth exchange and internet link up with Ghana in West Africa. British school students successfully challenged the notion that young people in Africa cannot cope with computers.

Through a computer appeal launched with the IYEP-Ghana, British students took the first computer to Wulugu Secondary School in northern Ghana. WORLDwrite’s unique and ambitious programmes, promoting friendship amongst young people have proved to many that there are no obstacles to international understanding if we set our sights high. WORLDwrite is led by volunteers and school students. Participants and volunteers attend action committees across the UK to develop and implement programmes.
