The Ghana
exchange was set up to challenge stereotypes of Africa and Africans and
build new internet links with Ghana in West Africa.
"We achieved a
great deal and learned so much. We
have a lot more to do. We have taken computers
out to Ghana, proving those who said Africans cannot cope or do not
need these things, utterly wrong. We
are determined to raise the funds for phone lines for our youth partners
in Kumasi and for Wulugu Secondary school in the North. We will be hosting
a visit by our Ghanaian partners in August '98 to continue our work.
Many people have helped us in our schools, with our fund-raising, with
research, advice by donating computers, we owe the success of this exchange
to their support. We would like to say thank you."
