What
will it involve?
Following a successful pilot in schools across
London, this programme is now available for schools, colleges, youth and
community groups in London and can be adapted to suit other areas.
Young trained facilitators will provide a seven-session
programme focusing on identity and culture from both local and global
perspectives and exploring commonalities within and between groups of
young people.
The programme can take place during or after school and session lengths
are flexible but will last a minimum of 40 minutes.
We will need from you:
A designated contact person to correspond
with the project during its lifetime
A group of identified young people to make up a group
Access to year/school assemblies or appropriate forums
What are the benefits?
An extra curricula and curriculum related
programme
A seven-session programme, peer delivered and devised
The group of pupils involved will gain a greater understanding of multiculturalism
The group of pupils will share and explore what they have in common with
other students
The school will have the opportunity to witness and assess student efforts
at appropriate forums, year/school assemblies
Involvement in a celebration of the pupils’ achievements, which
can include families and local communities
Recognition for the school’s endeavours and certificates of achievement
for student participants
